The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has officially unveiled former Super Eagles midfielder Duke Udi as the Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars FC, alongside Banjo Adepoju as the club’s Head Coach ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the club’s camp along Oda Road, Akure, and was performed by the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya.
The event was attended by key stakeholders in the state’s football community.

Among those present were a board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association, Chief Dele Ajayi, members of the FA board, management officials, and other football stakeholders.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Ogbonnaya charged Duke Udi to remain focused on the task ahead and avoid all forms of distraction as the club pursues its objectives in the forthcoming NNL campaign.

The ODSFA Chairman reiterated the agency’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for the technical crew and players, stressing that the ultimate goal is to ensure a successful season and return Sunshine Stars FC to its rightful place among Nigeria’s elite football clubs.
In his goodwill message, Chief Dele Ajayi assured that the Ondo State Football Association would continue to collaborate with ODSFA in promoting football development and supporting the club’s quest to regain promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Responding, Duke Udi expressed gratitude to the Ondo State Football Agency and the management of Sunshine Stars FC for the confidence reposed in him.

He assured stakeholders that he would do everything possible to guide the team back to the top flight.
Also speaking, Head Coach Banjo Adepoju pledged to work closely with other members of the technical crew and ensure that players are selected strictly on merit as the club prepares for the new season.
Earlier, players and officials of Sunshine Stars U-19 were treated to a colourful reception following their impressive performance at the 2026 President Federation Cup.

Although the team was eliminated by Barau FC, they received commendation for their remarkable run to the Round of 16, having overcome several highly-rated opponents during the competition.
