Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Mr. Devine Ogbonaya, says the ongoing 2026 Governor Aiyedatiwa/ODSFA Ileya Scouting Cup was organized to identify talented indigenous players capable of fitting into the various teams under the agency.
Mr. Ogbonaya explained that as the agency intensifies preparations towards achieving a more productive league campaign, there is a need to provide opportunities for young and talented players to showcase their abilities.
According to him, the competition is being closely monitored by the agency’s management and scouting team, who will eventually select outstanding players for proper screening and possible integration into the teams.

He further disclosed that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has shown keen interest in the tournament, noting that the initiative is designed to promote grassroots football development across the state through the ODSFA Ileya Scouting Cup 2026.
Mr Ogbonaya also appreciated the governor for his continued support towards football development in Ondo State.

Tubaba stressed that the state government under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa have taken a bold step by going back to the grassroots developmental program as the only solution to the football challenges facing Nigeria football.
The Governor Aiyedatiwa/ODSFA Ileya Scouting Cup 2026, which kicked off yesterday, will end on Thursday at the Ondo State Football Agency Game Village, Oda Road.
