The Chairman of Ondo State Football Association (ODSFA), Divine Ogbonnaya, has dedicated his Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Distinguished Service Award (SDSA) to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State.
Ogbonnaya was decorated alongside several distinguished sports personalities in Nigeria at the 60th anniversary of SWAN existence on Friday in Abuja.
According to the certificate presented to the awardee at the ceremony, he was recognised for, ”Outstanding support to Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and contribution to sports development in Nigeria”.
Ogbonnaya, speaking after receiving the award, said the it showed that the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa was on the right track to ensure that sports continued to develop at the grassroots levels.
He assured people of Ondo State that the award would spur him to continue to do more in the area of sports development , especially football development.
”I want to appreciate the leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria in the country for this recognition. I will say that anything you are doing, people are watching you, continue to give your best. I will continue to develop and support the development of the game of football,” he said.
Ogbonnaya assured that Sunshine Stars would do well in the coming Nigeria National League (NNL) which commences on Nov. 8.
