The management of Sunshine Stars Football Club, Ondo State, extends its heartfelt congratulations to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, on his recent election as President of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B).
In a statement signed by Mr. Tokunbo Akinyelure on behalf of the Caretaker Committee of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Alhaji Gusau’s elevation was described as a well-deserved recognition of his steadfast commitment to the growth and development of football in Nigeria and across the West African sub-region.
Mr. Akinyelure noted that Alhaji Gusau’s new role reflects both Nigeria’s growing leadership in African football and his personal influence in the region. He urged the newly elected WAFU B President to bring his wealth of experience in football administration to bear in advancing the game across West Africa.
Alhaji Gusau was elected during a virtual meeting of the WAFU B Executive Committee. He succeeds Edwin Simeon-Okraku of Ghana, who vacated the position to assume the role of Vice President at the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
With this appointment, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau becomes the fifth Nigerian to hold a top leadership position within the West African football governing body.
