As part of activities to mark first year in office, the members of Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA),Ondo State chapter,hosted Sports Writer Association of Nigeria (SWAN),Ondo State Chapter in a novelty match.
The Chairperson, Ondo State chapter of NFCA, Coach Tayo Onilude, while kicking off the match, thanked members of the sports fraternity for their continued collaboration in developing football in the state.
Onilude said the novelty match will encourage members of both associations to create time for more robust programs and exercises to keep the body sound and fit.
“I want to thank the Chairman of Ondo SWAN, Mr Segun Giwa and members for honouring our invitation to mark our first year in office as coaches.
“This synergy will further strengthen cordial collaboration to develop football, especially at the grassroots,” she said.
Responding, Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ondo State chapter, Segun Giwa, said the association will continue to support sports development in the state.
“As an association, we work towards robust synergy with all sports associations to ensure all round development of players and athletes for local and national competitions,” he said.
At the end of the friendly match, the Nigeria Football Coaches Association of Nigeria, Ondo state chapter, defeated Ondo SWAN 4-1 at the end of the game.
Also, The Coach of Royal Gold Football Academy, Johnson Blessing, used the occasion to donate a match ball to the SWAN in the state.
