All is set for the maiden edition of the Our Ease Students Fest 1.0, themed “Empowering Students to be Agents of Change’’, organized to commemorate the International Students’ Day. The event is scheduled to hold from November 13 to 17, 2025, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Akure Sports Complex.
Speaking ahead of the championship, the Director of the Ondo State Student Athlete Development Office (OSSADO), Olabode James, said the tournament aims to discover and nurture young basketball talents across tertiary institutions in the state.
According to him, the initiative forms part of the activities lined up by the Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Student Affairs, Hon. Kevin Solomon Olaolu (KSO), who has consistently emphasized the vital role of sports and education in shaping the modern student and youth.
Appreciating Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for approving the event, Hon. Olaolu remarked that “indeed, our ease has come both in the student community and in Ondo State as a whole.”
Reiterating the readiness of his office, Olabode James noted that all logistics, accommodation, and other necessary arrangements have been concluded to ensure a smooth and successful championship.
He added that a technical meeting involving coaches and officials will hold on Thursday, while the competition proper will tip off on Friday.
